Mrs. Ida Mae Smith, age 83 resident of Sanderson, Fla. died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at MacClenny Nursing and Rehab Center; MacClenny, Fla. terminating an extended illness. Born in Sanderson, Fla she was the daughter of Mrs. Eunice & Elder Ora Ruise. She attended the public schools of Baker County. Confessing Christ at an early age she was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher. She also served as recording secretary for the Union Progressive Association and Treasure of the Westend Union. Mrs. Ida Mae, was also a member of the Democratic Committee. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Stewart; a son, Louis Stewart, Jr. (Melody); Brothers, Louis Stewart, Sr., Alphonso Ruise, Elder Joe Nathan Ruise (Sharon), Ora Ruise (Pansy), Ronnie Ruise (Kim) all of Margareta, Fla. and Leo Ruise (Vanessa) of Lake Butler, Fla.; Sisters, Clara Jones, Jacksonville, Fla., Everee McCray (Bishop Lucious McCray) Lake City, Fla., Merdes Paige (Claude) Sanderson, Fla., Alfreda Givens, Sanderson, Fla., and Nadine Norris, Denver, Colorado; 2 sisters-in-law, Reatha Williema and Betty Givens; 2 brothers-in-law, J.R. Smith and Allen Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae Smith, will be 12:00 noon Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with her pastor Rev. Richard Gaskin, officiating. Interment will follow in Quitman Cemetery; Sanderson, Fla. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Cooper Funeral Home, Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 251 N.E.
