HENDERSON, Helen McGee It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the passing of long-time Edmonton resident, Helen Henderson at the age of 101 years. Born August 10, 1904 in Des Moines, Iowa, she passed away peacefully on August 31, 2005 at the Riverbend Retirement Residence. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Russel D. Henderson (QC) in December of 1975. She is survived by her son Eugene (Evelyn) of Edmonton; Two grandsons, Kent (Margaret), and Scott (Lisa) both of Edmonton, as well as four great-grandchildren, Meagan, Lauren, Melissa and Holly. Helen is also survived by her nieces, Sally (Ed) Sehn, of Medicine Hat, Jill McKenzie of Edmonton, Elaine zum Brunnen of Fort Collins, Colorado, and special great-niece, Nancy (Ray) Schultz of Fort Collins. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 11526-76 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., with Catherine MacLean officiating. Please, no flowers by request of the family. Instead, donations may be made to the Devonian Botanic Gardens, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB T6G 2E1; or to the Riverbend Retirement Residence Staff Christmas Fund, 103 Rabbit Hill Court NW, Edmonton, AB T6R 2V3, where Helen was taken care of so wonderfully in her last years.
