George Jackson -->George Skeeter Jackson of Norwell, owner of Jackson Welding & Fabrication of Scituate died suddenly on February 3, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Neale). Loving father of Mark and his wife Sandi of Pembroke, Matthew and his wife Barbara of Kingston and the late Melanie Best. Brother of Walter of Brockton, Eleanor Bellefleur of Pembroke and Marjorie Rinehart of Scituate. Grandfather of Scott and great grandfather of Sofie. George's family was among the original founders of Scituate dating back to 1638. George was born and educated in Scituate. He enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean War serving as an Engineman aboard several ships including the USS John A. Bull and USS Mullany. After the war he worked for D.S. Kennedy Antenna Systems Co. in Cohasset installing radar systems around the world, and where he met his wife Shirley of 49 years. He started Jackson Welding & Fabrication in 1968, serving the South Shore for over 40 years. Arrangements under the direction of the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate, MA. A funeral service was celebrated on Wednesday, February 10th at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 330 Country Way, Scituate. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Scituate.
