Francis Charles Alton, 75, Sarasota, died Dec. 21, 2004. He was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Oswego, N.Y., and came to Sarasota in 2003 from Syracuse, N.Y. He retired as a certified public accountant from Pratt & Whitney. He was a member of the Certified Public Accountant Association and the American Eagles of New York. He received his bachelor's degree from New York University. He was a first lieutenant in the Army during the Korean War. Survivors include sons Richard of Charlotte, N.C., and Mark of New York City; a sister, Theresa Fragile of Oswego; and two grandchildren. A private memorial service will be later in Oswego. The Good Earth Crematory in Bradenton is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department, County Route 10, Pennellville, NY 13132.
