Frances Jordan Woodin NORTH YARMOUTH -- Frances Jordan Woodin, died Feb. 3, 2008, after a short illness. Born June 26, 1910 in Portland, Ore., Frances grew up in Portland with her brother Lewis and parents Herbert and Pauline Jordan. Frances graduated with her Bachelors degree in music from the University of Oregon in 1932. In 1934 she married Charles Woodin and in 1953 gave birth to her son Richard. Frances was a church organist, pianist and teacher, and also participated in volunteer work. Frances came to North Yarmouth, in 2003, to be near her son. By coming to Maine, Frances returned home to the birthplace of her grandfather William Trew Jordan, who was born in Sabattus, in 1837. Surviving are her son, Richard Woodin and wife Leticia of North Yarmouth; sister-in-law, Ruth Jordan of Tigard, Ore.; nephews Russell Jordan of Tigard, Ore., Robert Jordan of Bountiful, Utah, Michael Woodin of Olympia, Wash., and niece Nancy Jensen of Nehalem, Ore. A celebration of Frances' life will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at the First Congregational Church of North Yarmouth. The church is located at 3 Gray Rd., North Yarmouth, (at the intersection of Rt. 115 and Rt. 231). The family may be contacted at rwoodin@maine.rr.com or 207-829-3270.
