Frances Isabelle Smith, 86, Fitzgerald, Ga., died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at her residence.Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Mrs. Smith was born July 1, 1921 in Fitzgerald, to the late Luther C. and Mittie Gaff Padgette. She was a homemaker and lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Smith attended Lynwood and Fitzgerald High School. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she was a Merry Maker, a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class and a member of the United Methodist Women.She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Frances S. and James D. Rowell of Valdosta, Ga., Julia and Walter Rogers, Hiawassee, Ga., and Betty Joyce and Don Ray of Fitzgerald; sons and daughters-in-law, James O. and Rose Smith of Fitzgerald and Michael B. and Linda Smith of Steele; four granddaughters; five grandsons; nine great-granddaughters; nine great-grandsons; sisters, Rosa Mandon, Blairsville, Ga., Juliette Bowen, Snellville, Ga., Juliene Wilson of Fitzgerald and Marie Milner of Deer Park, Texas; and brothers, Sammie Padgette, Pascagoula, Miss., and Delano Padgette of Fitzgerald.Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce O.
