Frances H. Casey passed away on January 18, 2010. She was born in New City on February 15, 1919 to John and Frances (Overmeyer) Koop. Frances was a New City resident for most of her life. She married her husband Frank in 1947 at St. Augustine's Church. Frances was a teacher from 1940 - 1952 in the Bronx at St.Simon Stock and Congers High School and also the owner of Little Tor Abstract Title Search Company for 30 years from 19641994. She was an active member of the Catholic Big Sisters at St. Augustine's, the Association of American University of Women, the Rockland County Historical Society and the New City Bridge Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. Frances is survived by her sons John and wife Evelyn of Westfield, Ma, Peter and wife Christine of Wayne, PA, daughter Bridget Casey and husband Harry Goldenberg of Nanuet, NY, her sister Helen Bonhotal of Smyrna, NY and granddaughter Taylor. Frances was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1982 and her sister Wilhelmina Plunkett. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Higgins Funeral Home New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 10AM St. Augustine's Church, New City, NY. Interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery Nanuet, NY.
