Florence Edna Bates formerly of Afton Florence Edna Bates, formerly of Afton, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Florence was predeceased by her husband, William Bates, June 21, 2001. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara and Frank Willis, Elaine and Donn Bellmore; grandchildren, Danny, Tom, Teresa, Cindy, Elaine, Debbie, Susan, William, Tabatha, Christopher and Robert; also many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews, including nephew, Bobby. Florence was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Windsor and a member of the Afton Ladies Guild. She loved to crochet and in the last two years of her life became an artist, painting scenes of the outdoors, flowers and birds. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 Noon at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 88 Chapel St., Windsor, N.Y. Burial will be in Afton Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
