Faye Williams GREEN CREEK, NC- Mary Faye Williams, 86, died Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Rosecrest Retirement Community, Inman, SC. Born in 1927, she was the daughter of the late A.P. and Nellie Champion Williams. Ms. Williams retired from St. Luke's Hospital, where she was a radiology technician. She loved her friends at the Polk County Meeting Place. Ms. Williams was a member of Green Creek First Baptist Church. Surviving are two brothers, Joe Williams (Judy) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Andrew Douglas Williams of Green Creek, NC; three sisters, Syble Tolleson (Joe) of Virginia Beach, VA, Polly Bridges (Troy) of Spartanburg, SC, and Hazel Chappell (David) of Lexington, KY. Nieces and nephews, Maxine Tolleson Frye (Lennie), Bobby Tolleson (Frances), Eddie Tolleson (Patty), Patti Tolleson Eisenhauer (Timothy), Rita Bridges Duncan (Don), Galen Bridges (Marie), Amy Chappell Hamlin (Trent), Guy Chappell (Christa), Susanne Williams Johnson (Joe), and Ashley Williams Butler (Byron). Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dr. G.L. Monty Chappell. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC, with Rev. Allen McKinney and Rev. Larry Gregg officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
