LEE, EvelynOctober 11, 1940 – Wallsend, EnglandSeptember 28, 2015 - Calgary, AlbertaEvelyn passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2015 surrounded by her devoted family. Evelyn was born October 11, 1940 to Edna and Robert Waugh in Wallsend, England. She was third of five siblings Pauline, Bob, Barbara and Ken. Tony and Evelyn immigrated to Canada in 1961 from England and settled in Calgary. It was here that they called home and proudly became Canadian Citizens. Evelyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, nana and friend. Her laughter and smiling big brown eyes lit up every room. She loved to laugh and tell jokes. Her sense of humour and quick wit were evident to the end. She stayed true to herself. Evelyn touched everyone she met by genuinely taking interest in others, as she always put others before herself. She never asked "why me?" but instead embraced life with a positive attitude and demeanour. She lived a full, positive life despite her struggles and did so with grace and dignity. Her strong will to live was witnessed and admired by many, she was truly an inspiration to us all. She showed true courage in the face of adversity. Tony and Evelyn enjoyed travelling extensively in their retirement years. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of family and friends. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years Anthony (Tony) Lee; her two daughters Veronica (Garry) McCulloch and Michelle Lee (Randy Van Brunt). Along with her ''treasures'' Sydney Lee, Sean and Conor McCulloch. Her 3 siblings all of England whom she loved dearly Bob, Barbara and Ken. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Pauline. A Celebration of Evelyn''s Life on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Holy Spirit Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Rest easy mom, you suffered and endured so much. You will not be forgotten. In living memory of Evelyn Lee, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
