Evelyn Alice McDonald The family of Evelyn Alice McDonald is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her two brothers, Clarence and Jack (Lyn) Smith, three sons, Bill (Lois), Bruce (Brian), Gordon (Valerie), and her three daughters, Anne (David) Tutty, Mary (Tracy), Louise (Ray) Gust, daughter-inlaw, Gail McDonald, along with thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Evelyn was born on the family homestead at Glamis, February 5, 1923, the second child and only daughter of Thomas and Annie Smith. On October 23, 1943 she married William Dean McDonald and they lived on the family farm in Glamis District until 1978 when they moved to Rosetown. Over the years, Evelyn was involved in a variety of activities, the Girl Guides at Glamis, the Homemakers Club (W.I.), and the Glamis U.C.W. She was a member of the L.O.B.A. in Rosetown since 1951 serving as Grand Mistress of Saskatchewan for 2 years, and officer of the Grand Crystal Chapter of Canada. She joined the Daughters of the Nile in 1958 serving as Queen, joined the Order of the Eastern Star in Rosetown in 1972 and served as Worthy Matron in 1986. Evelyn was very dedicated, giving of her time and energy into everything she became involved in. She also served in the Orange Benevolent Society as President for 3 years as a Director and on the board for 28 years. She enjoyed her hobbies including, tatting, petit point, crocheting, knitting, traveling to many places all while being mother and homemaker for seven incredible children. We will all miss her. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Mac, as he was known to many, in 2001, her son, Dr. Hugh McDonald in 2000 and her sister-in-law, Delphine (Clarence). Her dedication to family, friends and her many activities will be greatly missed. Memorial Donations are respectfully invited to the Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, 1529 Cedar Ave. Montreal, Quebec, H3G 1A6. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clements Rosetown Funeral Home
