Davis, Esther MiretFeb. 5, 1925 - Mar. 30, 2014Esther Miret Davis, 89, of Sarasota, FL, died March 30, 2014. She was born in Barcelona, Spain and, with her older brother Gil, immigrated to the U.S. with her parents, Ramon Miret Balde and Maria Pellicer Broggi. "Tessie" as her American friends affectionately called her grew up in the New York area. She was a graduate of Oberlin College and was an accomplished painter, a talent that ran in her family for several generations. She is survived by her husband, Dwight F. Davis, but both sons, Dwight Nelson and John (a.k.a. Juan) pre-deceased her. Funeral arrangements by Toale Brothers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, April 4 at St. Boniface Episcopal Church on Siesta Key. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Church, 5615 Midnight Pass Rd., Sarasota 34242.
