UntitledELIZABETH JOAN HALLSEPTEMBER 12, 1941AUGUST 28, 2008A native of Pensacola, Joan spent the last 6 years living with her daughter and family in Marysville, WA where she had the opportunity to get to know her grandchildren and find a "true buddy" in her son-in-law, Allen. She was a member of the first graduating class of Escambia High School in 1959. One of the highlights of her life was attending Sacred Heart's School of Nursing (graduation class of 1963), the people she met, and the career that followed. She spent much of that career as an industrial nurse at Monsanto.Joan is survived by her daughter, (Elizabeth), son-in-law, (Allen), and their children (Ashley, Courtney, & Jonathan); her son (Marvin), daughter-in-law (Krista), and their children (Amanda & Ben); her sisters, Lillian Kiedinger and Jewell Perl. Throughout her life, Joan loved creating beautiful things, whether through crochet or driftwood. She would sand down the old soft parts of driftwood until she reached the hard inner core, which she would then polish to a beautiful shine. Likewise, all the useless vestiges of this life have been released and everything that was beautiful about her remains and will not be forgotten.A Celebration of Life is being held at Gulf Coast Christian Church on Thursday, April 23, 2009, 6:30pm.
