SMITH Eleanor "Ellie" Eleanor "Ellie" Smith, 70, of Brookshire Dr., Niskayuna, died June 12, 2007 at South Shore Hospital in Mass. surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Richard F. Shea and Helen A. (Glattes) Shea, Ellie was a special education teacher for the Schenectady School District. After retiring, she become very active in volunteering. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Schenectady Wintersports Club, Arrangers Garden Club and Humarock Beach Improvement Association. Ellie loved kayaking, spending summers in Humarock, snorkeling, working on her computers and stamping. Survivors are her husband of almost 33 years, Robert Smith; children, Richard Lee (Charlotte), Rani Camuti, Margaret Eisenbraun (John), Laura Smith, and Lisa Marechal (Peter); 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Doris Brosseau and Carol Jeffries; and many nieces and nephews. Anyone wishing to remember Ellie in a special way may make a contribution to the American Heart Association.
