Eleanor Geneviev Van Alstine May 23, 1928 - December 21, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home VAN ALSTINE, Eleanor – It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Eleanor. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Regina General Hospital on December 21, 2005 at the age of 77 years. Eleanor was born in Vancouver, BC and came to Saskatchewan at a very early age and remained in Regina her whole life. She was a very social person that enjoyed being out with friends and family. Eleanor was always eager to participate and help with any events or gatherings and was a strong member of the Anglican Church. She was predeceased by her parents George and Jean Smith and her husband of 52 years Fred Van Alstine. She is by survived by her two sons Greg (Margaret) and Michael (Joanne); grandchildren Christa (Michael), Lisa, Tyler, and Jolene; great grandson Brock; brother Jim (Ruth) Smith; sister Eileen (Bob) Thompson as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 1105 Empress Street, Regina, SK on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Joyce Hilton officiating. A RECEPTION will follow in the church hall followed by the INTERMENT at Regina Memorial Gardens, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, 225 - 1874 Scarth Street, P.O. Box 1697, Regina, SK S4P 3Z6.
