MORRISON DuWayne James Morrison, 54, of Middleburg, passed away suddenly, Friday, March 29, 2002 at his residence. Mr. Morrison was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin and was a longtime local resident. A member of the Christian Faith, DuWayne served his country as a veteran in the Unites States Army. Although he was taken too young in life his accomplishments were many. He served in law enforcement for over 30 years, was Deputy Chief of Police at Mayport Naval Station, a former Reserve Officer for JSO Air Unit, a police firearms and police motorcycle instructor. He also taught at the Police Academy in St. Augustine and won numerous trophies and awards for marksmanship. In his spare time he was an avid fisherman and won many awards while competing in tournaments. DuWayne is survived by his beloved family members wife, Sheila; daughter, Michelle; sons, Kenneth, Byron, Darren; parents, James and Irene; brothers, Gerold and Kevin; 2 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He will sorely be missed by everyone at Bubbas Tackle Box. A Funeral service will be held, Monday April 8, 2002, 11:00AM in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home with The Rev. Canon Betty L. Drake officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Orange Park with full military honors. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in DuWaynes memory to American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
