MORRIS - Donald James September 15, 1921 - October 18, 2008 Don slipped away quietly in Langley Memorial Hospital after suffering a stroke during surgery. Lovingly survived by: "his darling" Mary after 62 years of marriage; his children Wendy (Bob), Pat (DJ) and Doug (Wendi); his grandchildren Scott (Karen), Steve (Brie), Rae and Jamie; and his great granddaughter Lily. Also survived by his brother Jack (Marguerite), sister-in-law Isabel (Fred), brothers-in-law Albert and Bud, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his sisters Maxine and Betty. Don was born in the CNR station in Matsqui. He joined the Royal Bank in 1938 and enjoyed a 42 year career, retiring in 1981. He enlisted in the RCAF in April 1942, serving for 3 years. Don was proud to be a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Duke of Connaught Lodge #64 in North Vancouver. He also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, Burrard Chapter #3 in North Vancouver and was a Past Worthy Grand Patron of British Columbia & Yukon in 1986/87. Don's family was very important to him. His family and his wide circle of friends all enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service will be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 72 Avenue, Surrey, BC on Friday October 24, 2008 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon or the BC and Yukon Cancer Project, c/o Mrs. Ann Lysholm, 3640 Bamfield Drive, Richmond, BC. V6X 3B5. We love you, Dad, and we will all miss you. "Rest in Peace".
