Funeral mass for Daniel Joseph Harrington of Mountain Home, Ark., will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, in St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 12, with a Vigil Rosary Service at 7 p.m., in Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Daniel Harrington died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in Mountain Home, at the age of 78. He was born Monday, October 13, 1930, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Anna Lathen Harrington. He married Linda Reis on December 26, 1981, in Jesup, Ga. He worked as a structural engineer for various companies including Reynolds Aluminum. Daniel Harrington was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Daniel lived in Mountain Home, Ark., since 1993, moving from Carroll, Iowa. He enjoyed photography, reading and traveling. He was a member of the Korean War Vets and Earth Science Club. In 2000 he attended the 50th anniversary of the Korean War in Korea. Daniel Harrington is survived by his wife, Linda Harrington; son John Joseph Harrington; and daughter Lydia Danielle Harrington. He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Carolyn. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Carrollton, Ga., with military honors. Memorials may be made to Korean War Vets.
