Daisy Mae Nelson (nee Bills), of Woodstown, NJ, age 76 passed away Friday, May 18. She is the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Bills of Barboursville, WV. Daisy worked at Mater Dei Nursing Home in Elmer until retirement where she spent many years caring for and helping others. Daisy was an avid race car fan but her biggest passion was spending time and cooking for her family and friends. Daisy loved to cook and bake for everyone; she always had something to offer, true southern hospitality and no one left without a jar of her famous jelly. Daisy is survived by an extended, loving family: Children: Debra Nelson of Carney's Point ; Tom and Lynndee Nelson of Carlisle, PA; John and Eileen Nelson of Pilesgrove; Ivan and Judi Nelson of Woodbury Heights and David and Jamie Nelson of Millville. Her pride and special grandchildren and great grandchilderen: Roy and Maureen Wine; Heidi, Emily, Olivia and Alexandra of Zion, IL; Elizabeth and Sean Lannon; Jessica, Katherine, Daniel and Jonathan of Pitman; Derek Wurst , Woodbridge, VA, Lisa Wurst, National Park and Leslie and Wesley Kille, Swedesboro; Emily, Molly and Sarah Wurst, Cameron Lowell and James Luddy, Gage Kille and Malayna Reistley; John Jr., Ryan and Michael Nelson of Pilesgrove; Matthew and Christie Nelson, Emily and Katherine Wilson of Woodbury Heights, NJ and Alexa Caleresa of Millville, NJ. Daisy also leaves behind her siblings; Martha Feltner and Becky Wiley of St. Stevens, SC and Lola Adkins of Huntington, WV. Daisy is predeceased by her life long love and husband, Hurston Nelson, Jr.; sisters Sue Harshbarger, Barboursville, WV and Virgie Mertz, of Monks Corner, SC and grandchildren Bridget Ann Nelson of Harrisonville and David Hurston Nelson of Millville. Services will be held 11 AM on Tuesday, May 22 at the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, Daretown, NJ. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 to 11 AM.
