Mrs. Cora Clement Williams, 82, of 925 Cleveland St., Greenville, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at National Health Care of Greenville following a brief illness. Mrs. Williams was born June 18, 1919, in New Prospect, S.C. She was one of nine children born to the late Ora McMillan and William Webb Clement. The family later moved to Spartanburg, S.C., where she attended the public schools and Cecil's Business School. Following her marriage to the late Everett Ladell Williams, she was a homemaker. They lived in various communities including Goldsboro, N.C., Sumter, Greenwood, and Charleston, S.C. She has been a resident of Greenville, S.C., for the past 20 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville for several years. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Greenville and celebrated her life with a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the church chapel with the Rev. Dr. Hardy Clemons and the Rev. Michelle McClendon officiating. Burial was at 3:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, S.C. Mrs. Williams is survived by her three children and their spouses, Dell and Charles Dixon of Mooresville, N.C., Kathy and Bruce Williams of Florence, Kathy and Rick Day of Lilburn, Ga.; her seven grandchildren, Charles Dixon III and his wife, Kaysi, of Simpsonville, Christie Dixon Ganshert and her husband, John, of Kannapolis, N.C., Steve, Brooke and Lindsay Williams of Florence, Kelly and Stuart Day of Lilburn, Ga.; her two sisters, Nelle Clement of Greenville, Mary Lowe and her husband Frank of Anderson; and a number of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Clement, Lillian Clement Williams and Lula Clement Saye Wakefield; her brothers, Vernon, Broadus and Bell Clement. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 847 Cleveland St., Greenville, SC 29601 or Vista Care Hospice, 406 E. North St., Suite A, Greenville, SC 29615. J.F. Floyd Mortuary of Spartanburg is in charge of arrangements.
