ALLEN-ANDERSON, Christina (1917-2008) Passed away on Thursday September 11th, 2008 in hospital. Resident of Unionvilla, formerly of Wyndham Gardens and resided 40 years in Willowdale. Received her lifetime membership of the U.C.W while attending Willowdale United Church. A farm girl from Roland, Manitoba. She left working at the post office to marry her sweetheart Bertram Allen (1918-1984) in Weston. They had Gaynor (John), Phyllis and Greg (predeceased 1950-2008). Loving Grams to 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with whom she never missed the opportunity to celebrate milestones. Realizing she had more life to live she married Hugh Anderson in 1985 and moved to Wyndham Gardens. She was an active participant in all activities at Wyndham. Central United Church in Unionville benefited greatly by her being a U.C.W member, coordinator and fundraiser. Because of her enthusiasm, Central also took up the cause of Sleeping Children Around the World. Because of her enthusiasm for life her experience of boating and camping in Ontario, led her to become a world traveller. She had a caring and loving heart for her family and others. Resting at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave., Markham (4 lights north of Hwy. 7) 905-305-8508. Visitation on Saturday September 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Central United Church (131 Main Street, Unionville) on Sunday September 14th, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sleeping Children Around the World.
