CHARLES WINSTON GOODWIN Charles Winston Goodwin 63, went to his eternal home on August 18, 2006. Mr. Goodwin was born on March 24, 1943, in Ft. Pierce, Florida to Winston (Doc) and Charlene Scott Goodwin. After graduating from Dan McCarty High School, he became a partner with his father in the farming business. Some twenty years later, he was employed by South Bay Growers and the United States Sugar Corporation from which he was retired. Mr. Goodwin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moore Haven. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time at his cottage on Lake Placid. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Davis Goodwin of Moore Haven, FL, his three son's and daughters-inlaws, Charles Winston, Jr. of Labelle, Christopher Earl and Jennifer Smith Goodwin, Mark Ames and Noel Sturm Goodwin of Moore Haven, sister Beth Howell, brotherin-law, Bud Howell of Banner Elk, North Carolina, and grandchildren, Lane, Garrett, Gracie, Ellie, Lake and Landon Goodwin. A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Moore Haven on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial to be held at Ortona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to consider the building fund at First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 566, Moore Haven, FL 33471 or the Gideon's Bible Ministry.
