->LEWISTON AND BANGOR - Chantal (Dube) Gosselin, a long-time resident of King Avenue, Lewiston, and recently of the Sarah Frye Home in Auburn, and Eastside Living and Rehab Center in Bangor, died March 5, 2014, at the age of 96. She was born Sept. 3, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Pamela (Poulin) Dube.In 1947, Chantal married Arthur Gosselin of Berlin, N.H. Arthur died in 1992. Chantal also was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Armand, Roger, and Fernand &#x22;Charlie&#x22;; and her sisters, Cecile, Loretta, Yvette Castonguay, Simone Stephenson, and Theresa Albert.Chantal passed up the opportunity to continue her formal education in high school. Instead, she lied about her age and entered the work force in the shoe industry. Of the several places that employed her, she had fondest memories of her time at Belgrade Shoe Co in Auburn and Charles Eaton Shoe. She was especially proud of her time spent as a welder at Bath Iron Works during World War II.In addition to her youngest brother, Conrad Dube of Sabattus, Chantal is survived by her two children; son, Michael and his wife, Elizabeth (Polly), of Oakland; daughter, Christine Greene and her husband, Garry, of Hampden; and her four grandsons, Anthony Gosselin and his wife, Jaime, of Berkeley, Calif., Nicholas Gosselin of Waltham, Mass., and his fianc&#xE9;e, Amanda Miller, Jonathan Greene and his wife, Stefanie, of Rockland, Mass., and Joseph Greene of Portland. Chantal is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Riley Mae Gosselin of Berkeley, Calif.At the request of the family, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash St., Lewiston.
