NEWPORT, New Hampshire — Cecil L. Henderson, 86, of the Woodlawn Nursing Home and previously where he received wonderful care at the New London Hospital Special Care unit, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010.Cecil was born on July 31, 1924, in Sanford, Maine, the son of the late Charles and Lillie (Hartley) Henderson.He will be deeply missed by his only surviving sister, Hazel Hilton Blaisdell; five granddaughters, Jan Nelson, Kathy DeGreche, Judy Chick, Susan Forcier, and Nancy Rodriques; and ten great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence Henderson, Clifford Henderson, Clarice Laverdiere, and Ralph Henderson.He leaves many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours.The funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Somersworth. Burial followed in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford, Maine.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecils name to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.Arrangements are under the care of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home at 86 South Main Street at Rochester.
