FERGUSON-HIRES, Catherine June Ellen December 6, 1960 - December 28, 2008 Catherine June Ellen Ferguson-Hires, 48, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2008 in Kailua Bay-Kona, Hawaii. Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada on December 6, 1960, Catherine was a devoted mother, wife, school teacher, author and artist. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Hires and son Theodore Hires both of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; father Dr. Ian Ferguson and mother June Ferguson (nee Richards); sister, Jaylene Wylie of Edmonton, Alberta and nieces Jennifer Wylie and Elizabeth Wylie both of Edmonton, Alberta; sister Leslie (Paul) Dunn and nephew P.J. Dunn and niece Kelsey Dunn, all of Calgary, Alberta; brother Richard Ferguson and nephew Ian Ferguson both of Calgary, Alberta; father-in-law Peter P. Hires and brother-in-law Peter S. Hires, both of Calgary, Alberta. A Hawaiian memorial ceremony was held Wednesday, January 7 at Mauna Kea Beach, Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kona Community Hospital, 79 - 1019 Haukapila Street, Kealakekua, Hawaii, 96750. Family and friends are welcome on January 12, 11:00 a.m. at Knox United Church in Calgary, Alberta for Memorial Services followed by Interment Services at Queen's Park Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta, Catherine's final resting place.
