TROY Catherine Johnson Davis, age 86, widow of Kenneth J. Davis, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Lee Johnson. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Grammar School and Catholic High School, class of 1935. Mrs. Davis was employed as a senior clerk at the N.Y. State Department of Labor, Averill Harriman Campus, Albany for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Troy, a member of Sacred Heart's Rosary Altar Society, a member of the Legion of Mary, a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the East Side Senior Citizens and, in later years, she enjoyed playing Bocce. Her greatest love was following the activities of her grandchildren through attending many of their school and sports events. Mrs. Davis was the mother of Dennis K. (Debbie) Davis of Niskayuna, Gregory L. (Barbara) Davis of Brunswick and Keith J. (Cathy) Davis of Poestenkill. She was the grandmother of Maura Davis of Niskayuna, Shannon Davis of Burlington, Vt., Kenneth Davis of Brunswick and Brian, Kevin, Eric and Caitlin Davis of Poestenkill. She was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, Andrew, Thomas and Henry Johnson and two sisters, Lena Becker and Margaret (Peg) Manning. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Betty Johnson of Elsmere and Marie Scoville of Troy; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Troy. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy. There will be no calling hours. Donations, Sacred Heart Church Memorial Fund in memory of Mrs. Davis would be appreciated.
