JOHNSON, Betty Jean, 72, of Plant City, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to join her heavenly Father June 16, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cozzie and Abbie Wallace, and her brother, Hughlon Wallace. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert M. Johnson; two daughters, Vicki Lay and husband, Tom, and Cathy Johnson Messina and husband, Joel Michael; and seven grand-children, April Lay, William Wacaser, Ben Lay, Allison Barber, Amy Stokes, Erin Messina and Joel Messina. Mrs. Johnson worked for Hillsboro Bank, which is now SunTrust, for 32 years, retiring in 1991. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Tommy Green officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Rodehaven Boy' s Ranch in Ocala or the Gideon Society.
