COX, BETTY FAY, 84Belleview - Betty Fay Cox, 84, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born in St. Clair County, Illinois to the late George and Anna Hall Lucas. Betty had moved to Belleview from Miami in 1988. She worked as a real estate agent, volunteered as a Pink Lady in Palm Springs and Hialeah hospitals and was a member of the Miami Lakes Garden Club and Women's Club while living in Miami. After moving to Belleview she became a member of The Church@ The Springs and the American Legion Post 284. Betty loved to play games, particularly Bunco and Bingo. She was a creative person enjoying painting, gardening, fishing, traveling and entertaining in her home. She was a true Christian and was active in all the churches she attended. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Pat Cox; two daughters, Debra Lynn Hutchins(Paul), Linda Fay Helton(Chris); five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County. Please send online condolences to hiers-baxley.com. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, May 20th, 2014 at The Church@ The Springs. Inurnment at Florida National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
