AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, September 24, 2014, Mrs. Betty Ruth Davis, 89, loving wife to the late William H. Davis. Mrs. Davis was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and of the Beckum Bible Class. She was an avid tennis player and a member of the Petersburg Racquet Club. She was a teller at First National Bank of Augusta. Mrs. Davis was also a member of the Greater Augusta Chapter - POW/MIA and alumnus of Tubman High School. Family members include sons: Glenn E. Davis (Karen) of Evans, Greg Davis (Sandra) of Canton, GA; grandchildren: Nancy Davis Baker (Matt), Matt Oates, Pat Oates (Kristen), Carrie Davis Baker (Jeff), Brad Davis, Elaine Davis Allen (Joseph), Evan Davis (Agatha); 5 great grandchildren; brother: Charles P. Owens; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Sandra Leightner officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 439 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901.
