Benjamin L. Henderson, 74, Venice and Moneta, Va., died Jan. 21, 2005, in Venice. He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Roanoke, Va., and was a winter resident of Venice since 1990. He was a supervisor for the General Electric Corp. in Salem, Va., retiring in 1990 after 34 years. He was a member of the Smith Mountain Lions Club, the First Baptist Church of Venice and was an elder at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Moneta. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy B.; sons Mike C. and B. Lee, both of Roanoke; a sister, Virginia Hebert of Warrington, Va., and Jacksonville; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Venice. Additional services and burial will be in Roanoke. Farley Funeral Home and Crematory, Venice Chapel, is in charge.
