JENNINGS Barbara Winton Jennings, age 67, of Stratford, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the Lord Chamberlain Health Care Facility in Stratford. Born in Portchester, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Hildreth T. Winton and Helen Peck Winton and was a lifelong Stratford resident. A well known Stratford artist, Barbara was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University where she majored in Fine Art. She also attended the Cooper Union School of Art and the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. She had been honored at the Barnum Festival Art Show, the Museum of Art, Science and Industry, the Milford Fine Arts Show and the Columbus Museum of Art. Her work has been seen at ReddingSs, Mark Twain Library, the Stratford Library and at the Connecticut WomenSs Artist Exhibits, among many others. She was also very active in the Stratford United Methodist Church and Bible Classes. She was a giver to the many in need and was active with meals on wheels, community suppers and Share, Inc., food for the under privileged. Survivors include her beloved husband, Brian Verrier Jennings of Stratford; two sons, Grekim Jennings and his wife, Catherine Jennings, of Easton and Verryn Jennings of Easton; one brother, Elliott Winton and his wife, Susan, of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Susan Wotton and her husband, Rick, of Danbury; one grandson, Ian Matthew Jennings; her brother-in-law, Gary Jennings of Stratford; her sister-in-law, Sandra Melino and her husband, Steve of Dover, N.H.; her mother-in-law, Dorothea Verrier Jennings of Fairfield; aunt and uncle, Frank and Jeanette Winton of Stratford; cousins, Robert Winton and his wife, Cheryl, of Austin, Texas and Donald Winton of Stratford. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Stratford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred O. Jackson, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Friday, March 10, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & DSArcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of oneSs choice.
