Barbara W. Anderson, 66, of Punta Gorda, FL, died Feb. 6, 2001, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center, Punta Gorda. She was born January 29, 1935, in New York, NY. Mrs. Anderson and her husband Stanley moved to Punta Gorda from South Salem, NY in 1997. She was the daughter of the late Leonard M. Wilson Sr. and the late Thelma B. Wilson. Survivors include her husband, Stanley E. Anderson Jr. of Punta Gorda, FL; her daughters Cheryl Anderson Kiai of Arlington, VA and Karen Galloway of Gates Mills, OH, sons-in-law Maina Kiai and Robert R. Galloway; and grandchildren Adjoa and Makena Kiai, and Grace and Robert R. Galloway, Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Una W. Law of Punta Gorda, FL, and her brothers Leonard M. Wilson, Jr. of East Falmouth, MA and Donald Q. Wilson of Murrell's Inlet, SC. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to all who knew her. She graduated from Katonah High School and Wells College in Aurora, NY. She was active in many community activities over the years, including Girl Scouting, Northern Westchester Hospital Center Twigs, Westchester School for Execptional Children, Meadow Pond Elementary School Chorus, and Junior League of Northern Westchester. She was a vital member of the South Salem Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for 32 years, played in the handbell choir, and served as substitute organist and pianist, Clerk of Session, Moderator of the Board of Deacons, and United Presbyterian Women President. Her special talents included fine handicrafts and needlepoint, which she lovingly made for family, friends, the church and community efforts. The funeral service will be held at South Salem Presbyterian Church in South Salem, NY at 2 pm on Saturday, February 10. There will be a private family interment at Bedford Union Cemetery following the funeral .
