Fazzone, BarbaraBarbara Fazzone was born Minneapolis, Minnesota, Feb. 8, 1927 and died North Branford, Connecticut, Dec. 18, 2013.Barbara was graduated from West High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1944 then and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for a time before joining her father in Bridgeport, Connecticut. There she met Pat Fazzone, her husband for 55 years. They resided in Fairfield, Connecticut where their sons Patrick and Jim grew up. Barbara spent a number of years working in the Admissions Department of Fairfield University. After their sons had finished their schooling, Pat and Barbara moved to a retirement area in Madison, Connecticut. She lived there until she moved recently to an assisted living facility in North Branford.Barbara was in avid traveler. Western Europe was her favorite destination and she and husband Pat stayed in a special village on the Italian Cote d'Azur where they spent some time each year.After Pat passed away she continued her annual trip to Europe with side visits to Australia to spend time with Patrick and his family near Sydney, and visits to Lake Elmo, Minnesota to be with Jim and Melissa.Barbara enjoyed art, particularly the collection at the Griswold Museum in Old Lyme where she became a docent. Regular trips to the City to view current art exhibitions were a big part of her life.Barbara is survived by her son, Patrick and his family, by son Jim and his wife, Melissa, by her brother Wayne Brock, and by family and friends too numerous to mention here.Barbara was a beautiful light in this world. Her optimistic and supporting nature made her a joy to be around. She will be missed by her family and her many friends.Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd.
