BERWICK, Maine ; Barbara Ann Brown, born Oct. 19, 1931 in Portsmouth, N.H., died early in the morning of Feb. 19, 2009, after a brief illness. A resident of the Seacoast region most of her life, she loved the beach, especially Wallis Sands, where she spent summers as a child with her father, Michael J. Reardon, and later raised a family.Known as Nana to her 12 grandchildren, nothing brightened her day more than spending time with them. She was immensely proud of them all and happiest when the family would get together for the 4th of July or Thanksgiving.Barb graduated from Morse High School in Bath and attended Chandler School of Business in Boston. She is remembered by many for her years at Southern New Hampshire University, where she would always go the extra mile for her students.Barb will be missed by her many friends and family. She attended to all with equal amounts of love, understanding and always a good sense of humor.She is survived by her four sons, Gregory, Christopher, Robert Jr., and Kenneth and their wives; her grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She will be missed by all.Services: Visiting hours will be held at the Farrell Funeral Home 684 State St., Portsmouth, on today from 2-5 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. James Church, 2075 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth, on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery.
