Barbara A. Brown, 85 of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at The Nottingham with her loved ones by her side. She was a life resident of Syracuse. Barbara was a graduate of Nottingham High School in 1947 as well as Syracuse University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts and a Masters in Library Science. She also studied Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and in Florence, Italy. Barbara also taught and inspired many at The Barns Foundation in Philadelphia, PA. She had many showings of her collections in Syracuse, NY, Philadelphia, PA and in Switzerland. Surviving are her sister, Cynthia Brown Kane of Connecticut and her brother, Wendell V. Brown of Canton, NY. Barbara also has four nieces and four nephews. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Barbara Brown will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, Syracuse, NY 13206 or the SPCA, Mattydale, NY 13211. Date of Death: January 29, 2014
