Mrs. Annie Ricketts, 86, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at a local nursing home. She was born June 10, 1921, in Watertown, Tenn., and had resided in the Panama City area since 1963. Annie was retired from Belk-Hudson Department Store on Harrison Avenue and later on 23rd Street. Annie was a member of Carlisle Baptist Church of Callaway, where she leaves many close friends and acquaintances. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ricketts; mother and father, Dottie and Grady George; brother, James George; and sister, Shirley Thompson. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Gaylon Ricketts of Panama City; one granddaughter, Amy Maynard; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Caitlyn and Hannah of Elgin, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glinna and Hobert Black and Bobbie Walker and Dan Day of Tennessee; a special niece, Elaine George; and several nieces and nephews, all of Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, in the chapel of Southerland Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Kuhn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 12, 2007. Interment will be in Watertown, Tenn., on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007. The family would like to offer a special heartfelt thanks to the truly wonderful staff of Panama City Nursing Center for the extraordinary compassion and care afforded Annie during her brief stay.
