->FARMINGTON -- Anna May Smith, 83, of Farmington died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Hospice House in Auburn.She was born in Jonesborough, Ark., on May 2, 1923, the daughter of Arthur S. and Grace M. (Fisher) LeMay. Anna was educated in the schools of Arkansas and moved to Maine in 1953 where she had resided since. She worked for Forster Manufacturing Co. in Dryden for more than 20 years, retiring in 1985. She also worked various jobs throughout the area. Anna was a member of United Paperworkers Union. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading murder mysteries, gardening, walking, and building stone walls.Anna is survived by three daughters, Bobbie Tilton of Wilton, Leona Ross of Industry, and Judy Schmitt and her husband, Peter, of Dryden; one son, Michael Shirley and his wife, Jane, of Kingfield; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Kathleen Brown and Dody Phillips from South Carolina, and Ruby Roberts from Louisiana. Anna was predeceased by two sons, O'Neal and Gregory; a daughter, Joanne; and brothers Harold and Harbert.A private service will be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Kingfield at the family's convenience. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, 108 Court St., Farmington, ME 04938.
