Alice E. (York) Foren1923 - 2014SOUTH CHINA - Alice E. Foren, 91, of So. China, passed away on Thursday, Christmas morning.Alice was born on Feb. 15, 1923, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha York. She was one of seventeen children. Alice was hard working and enjoyed her family, the outdoors, traveling with her husband and she also loved having food and flower gardens.She was predeceased by her parents; several sisters and brothers; her first husband, Francis DeRosier; and her second husband, Carroll B. Foren, the love of her life who died on Christmas day in 1995. She is survived by her only son, Freeman F. DeRosier and his wife Marion; one step-son, Ben Foren; one sister, Evelyn Lucerno and her husband Don, two brothers, Arthur and Richard York; her two grandsons, Jason DeRosier and Scott Willey, three granddaughters, Vicki Turner and her husband Ed, Debbie DeRosier and Kay-Lynn Crocker; and several great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.There will be a graveside service to be held in the spring at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner.
