AGNES OLIVIA PEARSON Agnes Pearson, 91, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont. and formerly of Stratton, Ont., passed away at her residence on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002. She was born Dec. 30, 1910 in Blackhawk, Ont. to the late Edward (Ed) and Alma Lee. She grew up on the farm, and attended school in Barwick and the Rainy Lake area. She was united in marriage to Hubert Pearson on April 16, 1934. They owned a dairy farm in Stratton, where they lived. Following her husband’s death, she moved to the Morley Meadowside Manor until her move to Rainycrest. Agnes (Aggie) was an avid card and Bingo player. She also was well-known for her cake decorating and haircutting talents. Although she and Hubert had no children of their own, they helped care for several foster children, including her sister’s children. Aggie loved children, and having her many great-nieces and nephews visit was always a great joy to her. Agnes was predeceased by her parents; husband, Hubert Pearson in January, 1991; four sisters, Clara Niskala, Minnie Bethune, Hilda Magill, and Margaret Gawley; three brothers, Leonard, Melvin, and Gordon Lee; and nephew, Jerry Tetu. Agnes is survived by her brother-in-law, Ed Gawley of Vermilion Bay, Ont.; sister-in-law, Thelma Lee of Stratton, Ont.; and by many nieces and nephews, including Lorraine and husband, Ken McDonald, of Stratton, Ont., and their children, Murray, Shawn, and Nicole; Georgi Gill and friend, Arnie, of Fort Frances, Ont., and her children, Kim, Lorne, Cheryle, Brenda, Maureen, and Dale, and their father, Doug Gill; Shirley and husband, Lloyd Henrotte, of Winnipeg, Man., and their children, Tamara, Michelle, and Shane; Ed Tetu and wife, Lois, and their daughter, Melanie of Stratton, Ont., and Sue Tetu (Jerry) of Fort Frances, Ont., and their children, Debbie, Lori, and Michael, and Tina and Mark Tetu of southern Ontario. Also surviving are several great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Stratton United Church. Pastor Pat White officiated, with interment in the Stratton Municipal Cemetery in Stratton. Pallbearers were Murray McDonald, Shawn McDonald, Darren Robinson, Lorne Gill, Bud McQuaker, and Terry Lee. Honourary pallbearers were all her many nieces and nephews and extended family. Should family and friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Stratton United Church or to the charity of your choice. Forever in our hearts.
