A celebration of her life will be held on her 69th birthday, Dec. 13, at 11 am, at Life Purpose Church, 7209 North Manhattan Ave., Tampa, Pastor Bob Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa. At the age of 21, Vonnie relocated to Ontario, Canada where she earned her diploma in Social Services at Seneca College (Toronto), followed by her Bachelor of Arts for Sociology at York University (Toronto). She began her career in 1975 as a Social Worker for the Canadian Govt. She relocated to Tampa, during that time she worked at USF until 1986, when she continued her profession as a Social Worker for the State of Florida Department of Children and Families. In 2006, she retired after 20 years of service to devote her time to care for her grandchildren, Savion, Amari, Giana, and Zaniya. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Baker (1998); mother, Gwendoline Anderson (2005). SSurvived by daughter, Vanessa Baker; grands, Savion, Amari, Giana, and Zaniya; stepson, Kevin (Kelly) Baker; grands, Kendra, Kristen, Kameron; her parents; her siblings; her aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins, friends, loved ones across the U.S., Jamaica, Canada and U.K. Remains will repose after 5 pm, Friday, Dec. 12, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N.
