Young Lee February 23, 1928 - January 12, 2013 Young Il Lee, of Surrey, British Columbia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 12th, 2013. The 4th of 7 children of the late Mr. Mun Shik Park and the late Mrs. Jung Ja Won, Young Il Lee was born on February 23rd, 1928 in Pyongyang, Korea. During the Korean War, Mrs. Lee and her family were fortunate to move to Seoul, Korea and in 1974, immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with her late husband Mr. Soon Ku Lee and their four children. As an Edmontonian, she was actively involved in the family business and the Korean community and upon moving to Surrey, British Columbia, was a member of the Korean Central Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lee was a spirited mother and grandmother with a great sense of humour. She will be remembered as a whirlwind force and one who always put the interests of her family first.She is survived by her four children and their spouses - Jay (Rosa) Lee of Seoul, Korea, Angela (Dick) Lee of Edmonton, Alberta, Paul (Ann) Lee of Seoul, Korea, and Brent (Jennie) Lee of Calgary, Alberta, as well as her six grandchildren and their spouses, Christina (Brian), Byron, Jennifer (John) and Jason Wong, and Alex Lee and Andrew Lee. She will also be remembered by her great grandson Kai Wong.A memorial service was held on January 14th, 2013 to the Great Commission Foundation, followed by a rememberance dinner in Mrs. Lee's honour.
