Winnifred-Mary Kenney, née en 1911, conjointe de Douglas Ross Kalbfleisch, fille de William-Andrew et Frances-Abigail, est décédée le 6 février 2009 à l'âge de 97 ans.
KALBFLEISCH, Winnifred Mary (nee KENNEY) Peacefully, on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, at the age of 97. Born in Kazabazua, QC., on March 3, 1911. Wyn was the third oldest child of a local merchant, William Andrew and Frances Abigail (Pritchard) Kenney. She attended a one room school in Kazabazua, QC., until grade 7, then moved to Ottawa to complete her education at Ottawa Ladies College. Wyn held various positions in Ottawa, including one with the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada and another in the accounting department of Murphy Gamble's department store. In October 1931, she married Douglas Ross Kalbfleisch. Doug passed away in 1985. Wyn was predeceased by her brothers, Dr. Athol Kenney and William Kenney of Ottawa and sisters, Helen Cohen of New York City, Isabel Harris, Elizabeth Desjardins and Frances Johnson, all of Ottawa and Margaret Marks of Aylmer QC. Brothers Donald and Frederick both died in childhood. Wyn is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins living in Canada, United States, Australia and England. She will be especially missed by her devoted cousin and faithful friend, Connie Quirk. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the wonderful care that Wyn received at the Glebe Centre Nursing Home. Many thanks to the superior nursing staff of floor Seven West at the General Campus. A Celebration of Wyn's life will be held in the spring.
