Willie Williams Willie Williams, 85, who was a retired supervisor for building services at Florida State University, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003. The service will be at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at Greater Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, with burial at Southside Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. EST Friday at the chapel of Strong & Jones Funeral Home (224-2139).Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. EST until the hour of service Saturday at the church. The funeral cortege will assemble at noon EST Saturday at 307 Wallis St. A native of Gretna in Gadsden County, he had lived in Tallahassee since 1935. He was a member of Greater Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a driver of the church's first bus and member of usher board No. 1 and Brown Bag Ministry.He sang in several gospel quartetgroups, including a renown group called Radio Four. He served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by two sons, Patrick D. Williams (and wife Rosie) of Atlanta and Rex Williams (and wife Cynthia) of Tallahassee; three grandchildren, Chrishanda Williams of Atlanta, Patrick Williams II of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Willie Patrick Williams of Fort Walton Beach; two great-grandchildren, Deanna Baisden and Conovan Colinberg, both of Atlanta; two devoted nieces, Hattie Ruth Dennis (and husband Joseph) and Alice Lawrence of Tallahassee; other cousins and members of the Shaw family; and many sorrowing friends.
