CARTER-KINDEL, Willie RueAge 96, of, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010. Mrs. Carter-Kindel was born in Lobelville, TN on November 14, 1913, to Dr. William Dave Cagle and Ludie Tate-Cagle. She was married to the late John Kirby Carter for 55 years and to the late Edward M. Kindel for 10 years. She is survived by daughter, Kay Carter-Simons (Ray), Brentwood, TN; daughter-in-law, Louise Carter Blaylock, Chattanooga, TN; sisters-in-law, Blanche Cagle and Miriam Cagle, both of Tampa, FL and Gladys Kindel-Rodes, Marshall, NC; grandchildren, Kim Carter-Poovey (Alan), Germantown, TN, Karen Carter-Easley (Mike), Richmond, VA, Glenn Carter (Sandra), Watertown, TN, Vickie Carter-Morrow (Ted), Culleoka, TN, Mike Carter (Tonia), Lynnville, TN, Johnna Carter, Chattanooga, TN, Jay Kirby Carter, Columbia, TN, and Sean Simons (Ami), Franklin, TN; great grandchildren, April Easley Crenshaw (Jordan) and Erin Easley, Adam Poovey and Jessica Poovey, Aaron Carter and Eric Carter, Jon Morrow and Hunter Morrow, Justin Carter, Jared Carter, Alisha Carter and Carson Carter, Carter Simons and Caroline Simons; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 2:30 the afternoon of Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, with Barry Ferris officiating. Placement will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Carter-Kindel was also preceded in death by two sons, J. Kenneth Carter of Nashville, TN and John D. Carter of Columbia; sister, Allyne Cagle-Lindsey of Columbia, TN; three brothers, Wallace Dave Cagle of Nashville, TN, James Buford Cagle of Atlanta, GA and Thomas Tate Cagle of Tampa, FL. In 1946, she and her late husband, J. Kirby Carter founded Carter Flooring Company in Nashville, TN. She was a longtime member of Berry's Chapel Church of Christ in Franklin, TN. She was a cherished wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was YOUNG at heart, full of Generosity, a Peacemaker, and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was also loved, respected and an inspiration to everyone that knew her. She will be deeply missed. Active Pallbearers will be Mike Carter, Glenn Carter, Jay Carter, Kenneth Harwell, Ted Morrow, Alan Poovey, Sean Simons and Ray Simons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Sam Bastian and staff, Dr. Frank Gluck, Dr. Irene Campbell and staff, and the following Very Special Friends: Virginia Harwell, Marge Brewer, Linda Sutherland, Ivon Claud, Margaret Armstrong, Christine Evans, Liz and Phil Foster, Gertrude Konrad, Anne Lynn, Lucy Mashburn, Mildred Nelms, Marie Nellums, Peggy Clifton, Larry Pigg, Helen and Bud Poovey. The family expresses its sincere gratitude for the kindness and loving care given at home by: Raegan Ubiera, LaRaine Edmondson, Diana Hensley, Vivian Hunter, Carolyn Simms, Nurse Julie Head and Willow Brook Hospice. They are truly angels on earth.
