WILLIE MAE SPIERS LEE 1912 - 2010 Willie Mae Spiers Lee, formerly of Picayune, Pearl River County, Mississippi, died on March 1, 2010 at her home in Pensacola, Florida. Willie Mae, born on September 18, 1912, was the daughter of Mary Dell Dickson and Ruben Harris Spiers. Mae attended Clark College and received her education degree at Mississippi Women's College. Her 30 year teaching career included teaching English and French at Henleyfield, Carrier, Crosby, Centerville and Picayune High Schools in Mississippi. Following retirement, Mae enjoyed gardening and traveling with friends. She was a member of the Picayune Garden Club. She moved to Pensacola, FL in 1982 to spend her final years near her children. Flower gardening was a major focus of her life in Pensacola. Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hulon Estes Lee; her three sisters, Ethel Vaughn, Amelia Lumpkin, Jane Ann Seals; and her parents. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Barbara Lee and Don Holifield of Pensacola FL, Janet Lee and Clark Heath of Woodbine, GA, and Hulon Eugene and Jeanette Lee of Bremen, GA. She has four grandchildren, Thomas Heath of Colorado Springs, CO, Karen Barker of Huntington, WV, Andrew Heath of Woodbine, GA, and Dr. Mary Heath of Monteagle, TN. She also has three great-grandchildren, Caleigh Barker, Dylan Heath, and William Heath Roberts. The visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday March 6,, 2010 at McDonald Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., 401 West Canal St., Picayune, Ms. 39466.
