JONES Willie Mae Jones, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 9, 2008. She was born February 03, 1910 in Thomasville, Georgia to Mr. John Alfred Turner and Mrs. Eliza Jane Aycox. Mrs. Jones resided in Jacksonville, FL. She was a longtime member of the Springfield area. She leaves as survivors, her brother, George Turner, Sr. and her sister, Christine Johnson; her loving God daughter, Gwendolyn Clyburn and her husband Christopher; several nieces and nephews; her caring and devoted caregiver Minnie Chandler, and also Frances Cannon and Johnnie Ray; her neighbors who were like sons to her, Samuel Travis, Luther Baker and her longtime friend Rev. Jack Inman; along with other relatives and many friends. The family visitation to greet friends will be from 3:00pm until 5:00pm, Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Funeral Home Chapel (4315 Main Street) Jacksonville, FL. 32206. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 2:00pm, February 15, 2008 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Jack Inman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
