Mrs. Willie Mae Davis Johnson, 85, of 520 Johnson St. passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Piedmont Medical Center. The funeral service was held at noon Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Black Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Kennedy F. Threatt Sr. officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Born in Fairfield County on Feb. 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Willie Perry Davis and Mattie Davis Watson Coleman. She joined Purity Baptist Church in Fairfield County at an early age, and later after her marriage she joined Black Rock Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, Missionary Ministry, member of the Golden Age Club, A.P.&B. Society Little Rock #29 and Black Rock Wellness Team. She was preceded in death by two sons, Willie James Johnson and Harry Johnson; son-in-law, Teddy Ferrall; three brothers, John Perry Davis, Andy Edward Davis and Belton Davis; and a sister, Ida Pearl Hughes. Survivors are her husband, Willie Johnson of the home; five daughters, Mable J. Emerson of Chester, Louise Johnson and Eloise Ferrall, both of Washington, D.C., and Mary (Thomas) Stokes and Carolyn (devoted son-in-law Robert) Cloud, both of Chester; one son, Napoleon (Edna) Johnson of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Shirley Johnson; two grandchildren reared in the home, Rainey Doby and Danasha Johnson; 30 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Estelle (Wallace) Hayes and Georgia Johnson, both of Buffalo, N.Y. King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, was in charge of arrangements.
