CARTER Willie Lee Carter, Sr., 65, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2001. He was a native of Union County and had lived most of his life in Macclenny. He was the son of the late English and Nettie Finley Carter. He was a retired conductor from the CSX Railroad and a member of the United Transportation Union, Local #0903. Mr. Carter was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Juanita; son, Billy (Donna) Carter of Macclenny; daughter, Christy (Patrick) Linster of Glen St. Mary; brothers, Alvin Carter of Lake City, Shelton Carter of Macclenny, and Martin Taylor of Lake City; sisters, Alice Wynn and Esther Clemons both of Macclenny; grandchildren, Kristophor Linster, Colt Linster, Jacob Carter & Noah Carter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 24, at 11 am in the Taylor Church, with Rev. Mark Woods officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Baker County.
