Mr. Willie Joe Smith, age 66, passed into eternal rest Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. The Bulloch county native was retired from Brooks Instruments and a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church of Clito. Those left to cherish his memory include a loving wife, Annie L. Smith, Statesboro; two daughters, Annette Smith (Jerry) Waters and Sharon D. (Horace) Fuller, both of Portal; two sons, Kenny Joe (Julia) Smith and Gregory L. Smith, both of Statesboro; a stepson, Leon Christopher Lee, Statesboro; a sister, Dorothy (Ernest) Moore, Statesboro; three brothers, Zema (Susie) Smith and Frank (Alma) Smith, both of Statesboro, and George Smith, Jacksonville, Fla.; a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Willie Joe Smith will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007, at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church (Clito) with the Rev. Michael Moore officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. in the Ben Samuel Hill Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
