JACKSON Willie "Honky" Jackson, age 69, was called from this earth on Friday, February 1, 2008 at St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Wadley, Ga., on August 28, 1938 to the late Joe and Clara Jackson. He was educated in the Wadley, Georgia School System Willie was a long time resident of Bridgeport. He worked at Nash Engineering for 20 plus years and was currently employed by Laidlaw Transit, where he is surely missed. He was a solid fixture in any position he held. "Honky" played hard and long for the BT Express softball team where he made many appreciative and remembered friends. He leaves to mourn his wife, Lucille P. Jackson; four daughters, Valerie R. Uwakwe (Sam), Shonda M. Jackson (Terry), both of Marietta, Ga., and Clara V. Wade (Darnell), Cynthia D. Lanham (Kevin) both of Bridgeport; a son, Christopher A. Jackson (Wanda) of Bridgeport; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a special little godchild, Tia; and a host of friends. Willie was predeceased by three sisters, a brother, and a daughter. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Mount Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank St., Bridgeport. Viewing time will start at 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Rev. Warren Gill, Jr. will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Arrangements are entrusted to Baker-Isaac Funeral Services, 985 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport.
